Tearaway is also references in the PlayStation Labo area, where it’s on the PlayStation Vita Game Pack artwork, and the Vita itself will boot to “Botaway” if you balislot hit it. It is worth mentioning that if you accidentally die by picking up an earlier piece of the puzzle, its place will be replaced by a transparent piece of the puzzle. Also, all coins and coin containers are renewed after your rebirth or after starting the level anew. If you want to own all the collectibles in the game, you’ll need up to 6,000 coins to win prizes in the PlayStation Lab’s prize draw machine. Core Trophies are awarded for completing levels and defeating bosses‚ serving as essential milestones toward smoothly achieving the Platinum Trophy in Astro Playroom. This Trophy is earned by doing well in the races in Network Speed Run, which is located between the blue and green doorways in the CPU Plaza.
The Bots chasing the bike refer to the huge swarms of zombies featured in the game. Further along the area where the Horizon and Dreams easter eggs are will be some vines you can move by blowing into your microphone. Inside the cave on the right is a coffin, which if you punch will cause a blonde figure to emerge and pull the lid back on. This references the Castlevania series, specifically 1997’s Symphony of the Night on PS1, by Konami Computer Entertainment Tokyo.
They encourage exploration‚ completion of levels‚ and discovery of hidden collectibles like puzzle pieces and artifacts. Earning trophies provides a sense of accomplishment and showcases mastery of the game’s creative levels and DualSense features. With no missable trophies‚ players can enjoy a stress-free journey to 100% completion‚ making the experience both fun and achievable for all skill levels. Trophies also add replay value‚ challenging players to revisit worlds and unlock everything the game has to offer.
Efficient Trophy Hunting Strategy
At the top of the steps, turn around, and come back on yourself so you’re walking across the white beams at the edges. You know you’re in the right place when a series of coins appear. Before you do that, stand on the edge just to the left of where you need to pull the chest from the ground. Doing so reveals the riddle for this area, which is a rather cryptic space outfit. Here are the games released during 2025 that have won major industry awards or received nominations for those awards. We’ll update our awards tracker whenever new awards and nominations are announced.
These icons were displayed on the back of PS1 game boxes to show what features the game supported. The icons on the monitor are, from left to right, Memory Card block requirement, Dual Analog support, Link Cable support, DualShock support, PlayStation Mouse support, Player count, and Multi-Tap support. This section only lists games whose only easter eggs were in the Trophy list. Games who had others within the game itself are listed above instead. On the right side of the giant pool at the end of Hotel Hopalot, you can find some Bots dancing next to two cardboard cutouts.
However, I have been very disappointed in their increasingly silly take on PSSR. If you have only unlocked one or two in Astro’s Playroom, they will appear here individually, meaning you can return and get the rest when you are ready. Before you proceed, we recommend you play around with the D-Pad, which will cause Astro to perform four different dances through the four directions. Familiarize yourself with these, as you’ll need to remember them shortly. To find the special in Memory Meadow, head to the Gusty Gateway area. Basically, it means that the triggers can offer resistance if you’re trying to perform some task that requires a lot of effort.
Astro And His Crew Take You On A Magical Exploration Of The Ps5™ Console
Pull up the two small wires, followed by the revealed large wire in the middle to get this artifact. Artifact 1/2 “DUALSHOCK 3 Wireless Controller” – Continue left out onto the small island, defeat the three enemies then pull up the wires to find this artifact. Puzzle Piece 4/4 – Keep climbing and after going off two bounce pads you’ll be at the very top of the plaza, where you can find this puzzle piece. Astro’s Playroom is a free game, pre-installed to every PlayStation 5 console.
You can jump down to the wooden platforms, then into a cave where you can pull a wire for this artifact. Artifact 1/3 “PSP UMD” – After riding the lilypad up, instead of jumping left onto the moving platform go to the right into a freezer area. Jump through the ice and hit the button to lower the water, then you can grab this artifact. Puzzle Piece 3/4 – After jumping up through a stack of glass blocks, this puzzle piece is just to the left at the top. Puzzle Piece 2/4 – Once you reach the ice ramp, instead of proceeding forward jump down to the right where you can find this puzzle piece under the platform you’re meant to jump to. Puzzle Piece 1/4 – Right after getting into the spring suit, charge a jump to the left to break through the glass to find this puzzle piece.
All Special Bot Locations
What I was meet with was a platformer where you played as a charming little robot in a world that has a better art style then most modern games. Besides the controller gimmicks, Astro’s Playroom is an able showcase for what the PlayStation 5 can actually do. You can zip around between levels instantly thanks to the PS5’s ultra-fast loading times. PlayStation’s ASOBI development team clearly has intimate knowledge of console hardware to complement its gift for playful game design. It’s the foundational software kicking off the next generation of PlayStation gaming.
Appropriately located in the rainy section that ends Gusty Gateway, next to a shelter you can find a Bot on the ground with an origami crane on him. This references 2010’s Heavy Rain on PS3, developed by Quantic Dream. In it, a serial killer known as the Origami Killer uses long periods of rain to drown his victims, and uses origami as his calling card. In the second mud pit of Gusty Gateway you’ll find a Bot carrying several crates while being surrounded by crabs. This is a reference to 2020’s Death Stranding by Kojima Productions on PS4, which stars Norman Reedus as courier Sam Bridges in a post-apocalyptic America.
During the side-path to the PSone LCD Monitor, you’ll find a Bot in samurai attire next to a tree. This refers to Jin Sakai and the tree in his childhood home, as seen in 2020’s Ghost of Tsushima on PS4, developed by Sucker Punch. Ghost of Tsushima was the last first-party PlayStation game developed exclusively for the PS4, after which the PS5 released. Very early into the Electrocloud level, you’ll spot a jet fighter flying about on the right-hand side of the level. This is the R-C01 from the cover of Air Combat, the first game in the Ace Combat series released on the PS1 in 1995 and developed by Namco.
Some are more obvious — like a robot with a bandana that pops out of a cardboard box — while others are more subtle deep cuts to the retro library (like 1995’s Jumping Flash!). Astro’s Playroom was a launch title for the PlayStation 5 that comes pre-installed on the console. The game is a fantastic tech demo for the DualSense controller while also being an enjoyable platformer in its own right.
Artifact 2/2 “PlayStation Mouse” – In the section where you are meant to jump across the clouds, instead of going towards the checkpoint you should jump onto the cliff ledges which lead higher up. From there you can climb up to the top section on the right to find this artifact. Puzzle Piece 2/4– In the area with the first blowing cloud, run against the wind to grab this puzzle piece. Puzzle Piece 4/4 – When you exit the caves and are out of the ship, drop down to the lower floor to find this puzzle piece underneath some glass. Artifact 2/2 “PS2 Memory Card” – Hold both triggers down fullying to puh yourself through the two purple spiderwebs to find this artifact on the other side. Puzzle Piece 3/4 – When you see the electrical hazards, continue to the right where you see the purple webs instead of continuing up.
Special Bots are hidden Bots scattered throughout each biome of Astro’s Playroom, and were added in the lead-up to the sequel, Astro Bot. Each represents a VIP Bot from Astro Bot, and can be found in the Mission Control Room of the new Labo Basement area once you’ve freed them. They will only appear after you’ve unlocked and completed 1994 Throwback. A PS5 is hard to come by, and it’s hard to get new games that make the most of its power.
